1. INTERNATIONAL CIDESCO DAY COURSE
CIDESCO
(Comite Internationale d'Esthetique et de Cosmetologie) is the
world's major international beauty therapy association. Founded
in 1946 with its head office in Zurich , Switzerland , CIDESCO
is represented in over 30 countries. The CIDESCO Diploma is the
world's most prestigious qualification in the field of Esthetics
and Beauty Therapy. There are over 140 CIDESCO Schools around
the world teaching to the internationally acclaimed CIDESCO standards
leading to the CIDESCO Diploma.
Course Structure:
Students must undergo a course of at least 1200 hours of training in practical and theoretical work in a registered CIDESCO school. This training includes undertaking CIBTAC examinations in Beautician, Body Therapy and Electrical Epilation.
All CIBTAC examinations consist of a theory and practical exam. The pass rate for CIBTAC is 60%. Students sit the Beautician module in January. Body Therapy and Electrical Epilation are undertaken in May. Exam fees are issued prior to students sitting their examinations.
On completion of the CIBTAC examinations, students take the CIDESCO examination, which consists of:
- A facial examination
- A body Examination
- An Additional Subject
- A written examination
Students are also required to write a project of at least 4000 words on a subject relevant to the study of Beauty Therapy. The purpose of this project is to give students the opportunity to use their knowledge, ability and creativeness.
Students undergoing the CIDESCO course must have reached the required standard in all three CIBTAC examinations and satisfy the school's criteria on suitability before being eligible to undertake the CIDESCO examinations.

Body Examination:

- Depilation – waxing with hot and warm wax
Additional Subject:
The subject can be chosen from a range of Beauty Therapy subjects such as:
- Cellulite treatment
- Aromatherapy
- Fantasy Make-up
- Lymph Drainage
- Anti-stress treatment
Written Examination:
This examination consists of multiple choice questions from all parts of the CIDESCO Theoretical Training Programme as follows.

- The Skin
- Cosmetic Science
- Aesthetic Treatments
- Business Studies
Note:
The prestigious CIDESCO Diploma is awarded to students who have passed the CIDESCO examinations and given proof of having gained at least 600 hours work experience in a beauty salon/centre. It is up to the individual student to source this work experience.
 
INTERNATIONAL CIBTAC DAY COURSE
CIBTAC
is an International Examination Board responsible for the education
and training of Beauty Therapists worldwide. It has built up its
reputation over 25 years and is renowned for its high levels of
training and strict quality control. There are now over 150 schools
in 18 countries accredited to offer the prestigious CIBTAC Awards.

- CIBTAC Beautician
- CIBTAC Electrolysis
- CIBTAC Body Therapy
Students undergoing the CIBTAC Diploma Course will complete their studies in May. They do not go forward for CIDESCO examination.
